In this first workshop I would start with definitions used by fluid artists, a little color theory, how to prepare your canvas, how to use product to extend your paint, mixing the paint, layering your cup for pouring, pouring the paint onto the canvas and tilting it out to create your own unique work of art. Students would be able to take their paintings home. For this beginner class I would teach the techniques of Straight Pours or Ring Pours.
This workshop is for 12+ through adult. Anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Please note: It is quite possible that clothes could get messy! We're working with fluid paints. Students can be encouraged to bring aprons to protect clothing or wear clothing they don't mind getting paint on. Gloves and masks will be provided.

About the Instructor, Elayne Burton of Elayne Burton Art: I am a native Texan whose been transplanted to the Pacific Northwest for a while now. I began my journey into fluid art during the pandemic shut downs. I finally got serious about it in the summer of 2021. I don't specialize in a specific technique, and I'm still learning so much from the multitude of artists that inspire me. Fluid Art allows me to express my emotions with the paint, and I have found this method of expression liberating and most of all, FUN! I'm also a business owner, a singer, and my husband and I are the parents of three feline fur babies.
